Casey to miss Barclays event
Englishman Paul Casey has revealed he will not be appearing in this week's Barclays tournament in New Jersey due to a rib muscle injury. Casey has expressed his disappointment at already having missed the USPGA Championship at Hazeltine because of the complaint, but said he is likely to return at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
He remarked: "I am really hoping that it continues to improve and I will be teeing it up in Boston next Thursday."
Currently undergoing cortisone injections for the injury, Britain's world number three had to pull out of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational as well.
Starting today, the Barclays classic represents the playoffs to the FedExCup with Tiger Woods currently the favourite at 15/8 with Betfred(Go to Betfred »).
Those looking to bet on something a little different can bet on the nationality of the winner, with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 15/2 on a European winner.
