Alfred Dunhill Golf Odds - Westwood Recants St Andrews Slight
Lee Westwood has retracted his disparaging remarks relating to the quality of St Andrews golf course ahead of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which starts today (October 1st). Ten years ago the Englishman described the venue as not breaking the "top 200 in Fife", but he stated that he has grown to appreciate the Home of Golf in recent years.
"When you're young and you just bash the ball and you hit a slope and it goes miles away, little things like that tend to irritate you," he noted.
According to the 36-year-old, the course is now one of his favourites and he won the Alfred Dunhill Links event here in 2003.
Those who think Westwood will recapture title after six years can find odds of 16/1 with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet »).
Dubliner Padraig Harrington is currently the tournament favourite with most bookmakers and can be found at 7/1 with Stan James(Go to Stan James »).
