Golf Betting News - Garcia Favourite At Madrid Masters

Spaniard Sergio Garcia is currently the favourite with most bookmakers to win the Madrid Masters.

Garcia is available at 7/4 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power »), despite finishing the first round two strokes behind leader and fellow countryman Manuel Quiros.

Ranked 1,076 in the world, the unheralded Quiros played a ten-under-par 62, including sinking ten out of 12 birdies.

Commenting on his performance, the 30-year-old said: "I think I was very lucky with the putter. The greens were not so good because of all the players walking around."

Quiros was appearing for only the fourth time this season, through the Spanish order of merit, but was able to pip Garcia's round of 64 with four birdies in the last five holes.

Englishman Oliver Fisher, who is a 20/1 shot with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes »), finished in third on seven under par.

Those who believe Quiros will sustain his good form to take the title can find him at 20/1 with Coral(Go to Coral »).
