Golf Betting - Tiger Woods Looking Forward To HSBC Champions

Tiger Woods has indicated he is excited about playing in this week's HSBC Champions event in China because of the strength of the opposition.

The world number one told the Associated Press he has "always enjoyed competing against such great fields" and he will come up against exactly that at Sheshan International Golf Club, with Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Lee Westwood among those taking part.

"It's a lot of fun for players to compete against these guys. For some reason, I've also had a lot of success," he commented.

Woods has yet to win the Shanghai event, although he was second in 2005 and 2006 behind David Howell and Yang Yong-eun respectively.

World number two Mickelson won in 2007 after a playoff with Westwood and Ross Fisher, who is also returning this year along with reigning champion Sergio Garcia.

Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») makes Woods the favourite to take the title at 2/1, while Mickelson is the second most fancied contender at 13/1 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power »).
