Golf Betting - Crash Prevents Woods Entering Chevron Challenge
Injuries sustained in a car accident on Friday (November 26th) have prevented Tiger Woods from entering the Chevron World Challenge event. The world number one has facial damage as a result of the crash that occurred outside of his Florida home.
Commenting on his official website, Woods said: "I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at [the] tournament this week."
He added that he was "certain" the Thousand Oaks event in California will be "outstanding" and issued an apology to fans for his absence.
This is the first year that the Chevron World Challenge is to carry ranking points for its entrants, with many bookmakers fancying Lee Westwood's chances of lifting the trophy now that Woods has dropped out.
The Englishman is offered at odds of 7/1 with Extrabet(Go to Extrabet »), while Betfred(Go to Betfred ») is also favouring Padraig Harrington at 15/2.
Those looking for an outside bet can find Ian Poulter at 14/1 odds with William Hill(Go to William Hill »).
