Garcia Injury To Affect Odds?
World number 11 Sergio Garcia has confirmed that an injury to his right hand has taken longer to recover from than he had expected. The Ryder Cup star damaged it during the third round of the Dubai World Championship at the end of the season last month.
Despite having kept the appendage rested during a break from the game, it has still not recovered and Garcia is set to see a specialist to help ease the problem.
"The hand is not well," Garcia said. "I haven't played for three weeks and I still feel pain, it's not healing as fast as we thought it would. "
He admitted that he is "worried" about the extremity, but expressed his hopes that it will be better in time for the season-opening Abu Dhabi Championship on January 21st.
Those who fancy Garcia to overcome the injury and have a successful season can bet on him at 28/1 odds with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to win the Race to Dubai.
Lee Westwood is a 9/2 favourite with most bookmakers, including Totesport(Go to Totesport »).
