Mickelson: I'm Looking Forward To Northern Trust Open
American Phil Mickelson has stated he is confident about his form going into the Northern Trust Open this week. Mickelson is currently the bookmakers' favourite to win the tournament, with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 6/1 that he will retain the title he won last year.
Despite only finishing in 19th place at the Farmers Insurance Open on his season debut, the world number two remained upbeat about his performance.
He remarked: "At least I know what it is that I need to work on and I have a couple days to do it."
According to Mickelson, he managed to hit some decent shots down the stretch, but he was unable to drive through the ball with any conviction - resulting in him "hanging back a little bit".
Scheduled to commence on February 6th, the Northern Trust Open will see a number of competitors vying for the crown, including Steve Stricker, who Betfair(Go to Betfair ») fancies at 157/10.
