Campbell: I Will Continue To Work Hard

New Zealander Michael Campbell has claimed he continues to work on his game and has no intentions of laying down his clubs and retiring from the sport.

Campbell beat the odds in 2005 to lift the US Open trophy, after coming through qualifying and besting Tiger Woods on the final day at Pinehurst.

However, after reaching 12th in the world nine years' ago, he has now plummeted to 513th after failing to make the cut in 25 of his last 28 tournaments.

Commenting on his recent form, he said: "I will persevere as I am absolutely determined to get myself back up those leaderboards … I know how soon things can change if I keep working hard."

According to the professional, he had become distracted by off-the-course obligations, but he is now fully dedicated to his career.

Despite these affirmations, Campbell is currently listed as a 500/1 shot with Skybet(Go to Skybet ») to win the Maybank Malaysian Open, which starts tomorrow (March 4th) while Stan James(Go to Stan James ») has Thongchai Jaidee as the 8/1 favourite.
