Woods Bidding For US Masters Comeback Success

Tiger Woods has targeted a victory in his return to golf this week.

The world number one has not participated in a competitive tournament for five months, but will be aiming to win the US Masters at Augusta.

Despite his spell out of the game, which came as a result of revelations about extra-marital affairs, Woods is the 5/1 favourite with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») to be victorious.

Commenting on his approach to the event, the 34-year-old said: "Nothing's changed; I'll still go out to win this thing. I'm looking forward to teeing off. I haven't looked forward to that first shot in a long time."

Woods was speaking to the media for the first time since the car crash outside his home in November that led to the exposure of details about his private life.

Countryman Phil Mickelson is 11/1 second favourite with Totesport(Go to Totesport ») to take the Masters title, while Ernie Els is priced 12/1 by the same bookmaker.
