Casey 'wants To Take' Masters Crown

Paul Casey is hoping to become the first Englishman to win a major since 1996 this weekend.

The world number six is 20/1 with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») to lift the US Masters title and in doing so repeat the feat of Nick Faldo 14 years ago, while the returning Tiger Woods is 5/1 with 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») to capture his fifth win in the event.

"I want to do it because otherwise (Ian) Poulter and (Lee) Westwood or the others are going to beat me to it," he told BBC Sport.

The 32-year-old was a runner-up in the World Golf Championship Match Play event in February, which was won by fellow countryman Ian Poulter.

Casey remarked that he is coming into "the prime of his career" and he feels the need to take advantage of this maturity.

He observed that if he can eliminate the mistakes and "manage his emotions" then he is confident of his chances of emerging victorious.
