Padraig Harrington Is "desperate For A Win"

Padraig Harrington is determined to record his first victory in the Players Championship since his last major success.

The Irishman has not triumphed since the US PGA in 2008 and endured a difficult 2009 after making swing changes.

He is 25/1 with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») to end his drought at the event, while Phil Mickelson is the 8/1 favourite with Stan James(Go to Stan James »).

"Every time I tee it off I'm kind of desperate for a win," he noted. "I took a good approach to there [at the Masters] and I just didn't play great golf."

Harrington finished seventh in the previous tournament and he has three top ten finishes in the US this year, but he is still chasing that elusive victory.

The Irishman congratulated Rory McIlroy after he completed his first win on American soil, becoming the youngest champion since Tiger Woods in the process.

And he believes that McIlroy - 24/1 with Betdaq(Go to Betdaq ») - will now grow into a much more relaxed player with the burden gone.
