Paddy Power Pay Out on Vettel
Bookmaker Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power ») have paid out Sebastian Vettel winning the Formula One drivers’ championship after just six races of the 2011 season.
Vettel is currently 41 points clear of second place Lewis Hamilton in the standings having won five of the first six races of the season – the only anomaly on his copybook is a second place finish in the Chinese Grand Prix.
Paddy Power said: "Congratulations to punters who backed Vettel - the Red Bull gives them winnings! It was no secret Vettel was going to be the one to beat this year but he has been on another level altogether and looks simply uncatchable. So why wait five months to collect on the inevitable?"
Red Bull are also running away with the constructors’ championship title and are currently 47 points better off than McLaren who are in turn 63 points ahead of Ferrari in third.
Vettel is currently priced at 5/6 to add the Monaco Grand Prix to his list of triumphs this weekend and is just 4/6 to take pole position.
