Ricky Hatton Retires
Following an illustrious career Ricky Hatton has now confirmed his retirement from professional boxing at the age of 32.
Hatton has not fought since he was knocked out in two rounds against Manny Pacquiao two years ago in Las Vegas and although rumours of a return to the ring were common the news does not come as a great surprise.
The decision draws to an end one of the most successful careers of a British boxer in recent history. Hatton was a two-weight World Champion but faltered towards the end of his career with big fight defeats to Floyd Mayweather Jr and Pacquiao.
The Mancunian has debated over a return to the ring for one last big fight and has agonised over the brutality of his loss to Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in 2009.
His fight record reads as just two losses to 45 wins including 32 knockouts, spanning two weight divisions and multiple world titles. Hatton will now focus his attentions on his successful boxing promotions business.
