Klitschko targets knockout victory

Vitali Klitschko will defend his WBC belt against mandatory challenger Tomasz Adamek of Poland this Saturday and is looking to win the fight by knockout.

Klitschko has won 39 of his 42 career victories by knockout and the 40-year-old is keen to improve on that statistic in Poland this weekend.

“I will give my best to improve my knockout rate,” said the Ukrainian.

“The only thing I can promise is that there will be no questions after the fight about who won the battle.”

Blue Square (Go to Blue Square ») make Klitschko the short priced 1/5 favoruite to retain his title, with Adamek at 10/3 to spring a surprise.

The Pole has a career record of 44 wins to just one loss and is renowned for having a sturdy chin. An attribute that has seen him adopt the nickname ‘Granite Chin’.

Klitschko is priced at betting odds of 8/13 to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification and 3/1 to win by a points decision or technical decision.
