Nadal withdraws from Paris Masters
Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Paris Masters in order to concentrate on the Davis Cup Final and ATP World Tour Finals later this month.
The Spaniard was due to line up in the French capital next week but has instead opted to focus his energies on the aforementioned events.
“Hi all, I won't be playing this upcoming week the tournament in Paris.” Said Nadal on his Facebook page.
“It's been a difficult decision to take but I understand that it is what I need to do right now to prepare well for the end of this season and also for 2012.
“I hope I can be back in 2012 to that great event in the most beautiful city in the world, and hopefully try to win it once [sic] day.”
The current world number two will line up alongside his fellow countrymen to take on Argentina in the Davis Cup final on December 2. The Spanish team are the Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power ») 1/5 favourites to take the title.
Prior to that Nadal will be involved in the ATP World Tour Finals alongside Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Roger Federer, David Ferrer and three, as yet, unconfirmed participants.
