Amelia is new X Factor favourite
Having only returned to the show on Saturday as a result of Frankie Cocozza’s misdemeanours, Amelia Lily is now the betting favourite with one bookmaker to win this year’s X Factor.
The public voted the 17-year-old Teesider back onto the show on Saturday, and following her performance of Queen’s The Show Must Go On is now made the 11/4 favourite by Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») .
While other bookmakers also have Lily at the head of the betting most have her as co-favourite alongside Marcus Collins. William Hill are amongst those who quote both acts at odds of 3/1.
“Amelia shocked the nation by belting out probably the strongest performance of the evening and has now shown Kelly well and truly that she was wrong to get rid of her in the first week,” said Joe Crilly of William Hill.
“She may well be the favourite by this time next week.”
At the other end of proceedings it was third time unlucky for Kitty Brucknell who was given her marching orders by the judges after being voted in the bottom two for the third time this series.
She performed in the sing off alongside Misha B who was in the bottom two for the second time. Misha is now the favourite to be eliminated next week at odds of 7/4, again with Ladbrokes. Janet Devlin is 3/1 to go and Little Mix are 4/1.
