Murray drawn alongside Djokovic

Andy Murray has been drawn alongside Novak Djokovic in the group stages of the ATP World Tour Finals to be held at he O2 Arena later this month.

The Scot will play the world number one, David Ferrer and Tomas Berdych in the round robin group stage format. The top two in the group will then go through to the semi-finals where they will meet the top two from the opposite group that includes Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Mardy Fish.

Federer goes into the tournament as the bookies’ favourite having recently won the Paris Masters and Swiss Indoors. However, he is wary of the threat that a fully fit Djokovic and Murray possess.

“If Djokovic is fit and Murray is fit - which it seems like he is - they will be difficult to beat, and Rafa [Nadal], regardless of how he's going to be, is always a tough customer,” said the Swiss.

“Everybody can beat everybody - I don't feel like [the players ranked] five, six, seven and eight have no chance - I definitely feel like they have a chance to go deep [into the competition].”

Betfred (Go to Betfred ») have Federer at odds of 15/8 in the betting, followed by Murray at 11/4, Djokovic at 9/2 and Nadal at 5/1. Tsonga is priced as the best of the rest at odds of 8/1, and then it’s Berdych at 20/1, Ferrer at 33/1 and Fish also at 33/1.
