Tendulkar nears milestone
Sachin Tendulkar ended day three of the third India versus West Indies Test on 67 not out, and 33 short of his 100th first class century.
The Little Master was given a life when dropped by wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh midway through his innings, but recovered to end the day still at the crease and with India 309 runs behind with six wickets in hand.
West Indies added 15 runs to their overnight total before R Ashwin bowled Devendra Bishoo to leave the tourists 590 all out. India’s response was led by a half century from Gautum Gambhir and an 82 from Rahul Dravid who became only the second player in history, after Tendulkar, to score 1300 Test runs.
The match and pitch now look perfectly poised for Tendulkar to go on and make history at the Wankhede Stadium in front of his home crowd. Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») offer odds of 1/2 that he scores a first-innings century in this match.
The game itself looks to be meandering towards an inevitable draw. No result is priced at short odds of 1/9 while West Indies are 18/1 and an India win is 15/2.
