Torres to stay at The Bridge

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has moved to quash rumours that striker Fernando Torres will leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Spaniard has endured a frustrating first year at Stamford Bridge since joining the club from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £50million. Leading to speculation that he could be moved on next month.

“It's not true, he is not available at any price,” said the Blues boss.

“We are pretty sure when Fernando is called up he will respond with the quality and talent he has. We have to make the best decisions for the team.”

Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») have now opened a betting market on the 27-year-old’s future and offer odds of 1/3 that he is still a Chelsea player at the close of the January transfer window. Odds of 11/5 are available on him moving clubs.

Skybet (Go to Skybet ») offer betting on which club will sign Torres, should he decide to move. A return to his beloved Atletico Madrid is quoted at odds of 4/1, Barcelona are 6/1, as are Malaga, while PSG’s recently found wealth makes them a 7/1 chance.
