City backed for Premier League title
Manchester City were shortened to 8/11 in the Premier League title betting after a 1-0 win over Arsenal saw The Citizens reassume top spot in the table.
Manchester United had briefly displaced City at the Premier League summit after beating QPR earlier in the day, but Roberto Mancini’s men made sure their dip in the rankings was only temporary as they saw off the Gunners in a pulsating game.
There had been questions raised about City’s title credentials after they lost their unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge last Monday. But, despite a spirited performance from Arsenal, David Silva’s fifth goal of the season made it eight out of eight home wins. And it is their home form that their manager beliwves will be crucial.
“We played at Tottenham, we played against United away, we played against Chelsea away, we played against Liverpool away,” said Mancini.
“At home it won't be easy but it will be better for us.”
City are a best price of 1/4 to beat Stoke at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday and 8/15 to beat West Brom at The Hawthorns on Boxing Day.
