Kean backed to lose his job

Following defeat in a crucial relegation battle with Bolton, Blackburn manager Steve Kean is the strong betting favourite to be the second managerial casualty of the Premier League season.

Rovers will spend Christmas bottom of the table having accumulated just 10 points from their opening 17 games. Despite the backing of owners Venky’s it now appears that the Scots position has become untenable, although Kean himself believes otherwise.

“I hope I can still win the fans over and I can only do that by winning games,” said Kean following the defeat to Bolton.

“This is our job, when you win people say it is amazing and when you lose people are unhappy. That is part and parcel of the job.

“We will grind our way through it and I will go through it because if all my defenders were available I could put a back unit together and keep clean sheets.”

Skybet (Go to Skybet ») now go as short as 1/8 that Kean is the next Premier League manager to be sacked, while they are 12/1 to pick up a win at Anfield on Boxing Day.
