Celtic odds-on for SPL title
Celtic have been cut to 4/11 to win the SPL title after usurping Rangers at the top of the table by beating their Glasgow rivals 1-0 at Parkhead on Wednesday evening.
The three points completed a remarkable turn around for Neil Lennon’s side, who were 15 points behind Rangers at the top of the table only two months ago. The Bhoys have now won their last nine SPL games and Lennon believes it was the club’s self-belief that has helped them erode the huge deficit.
“I was doubting my own position and I'm sure a lot of fans were as well,” said the Celtic boss.
“But I kept believing in the players and we've turned it around, although there is still a long way to go.”
While Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») make Celtic the 4/11 favourites for the title, Rangers anre now out to 2/1, but manager Ally McCoist is not giving up hope just yet.
“If we get fresh blood in January that would be great, but if we don't I certainly believe we can go on and win the title,” said McCoist.
“But it will be very difficult, as it is to win any championship.”
Both Old Firm clubs are available to back at odds of around 3/10 to pick up three points this Monday when Celtic go to Dunfermline and Rangers entertain Motherwell.
