Andy Murray v Ryan Harrison Betting
Andy Murray begins his 2012 Australian Open challenge with an opening round match against American Ryan Harrison.
The Scot has reached the final of the Australian Open in each of the last two years, but insists that hose defeats are not a factor in his challenge this time around.
“I don’t normally think too much in the past and always try to concentrate on what’s in front of me, what I am trying to achieve this year,” said Murray.
Murray is now working under new coach Ivan Lendl, who won eight Grand Slam titles, including two Aussie Opens, and topped the world rankings for 270 weeks. He believes that the Czechoslovakian born American can help improve his game.
“I was very young when he played but he’s obviously had a great attitude towards trying to improve,” added the Scot.
“He tried many new things and he was always in great shape. He’s definitely going to help with that side of things as well.”
Murray is a short 1/20 with Betfred (Go to Betfred ») to progress to round 2, and is 4/11 to do so in straight sets. But his goals lie much further down the line and Murray is the 5/1 third-favourite, behind Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, for the title.
