Ladbrokes suspend England manager betting
Ladbrokes have suspended betting on the next England manager market after being flooded with bets for Harry Redknapp to replace Fabio Capello.
The popular bookmaker believe that Redknapp’s appointment could be a done deal already and report that 95% of the bets they have received were on the Spurs boss, who was last quoted at odds of 2/7.
“Punters can't stop piling in to Redknapp. We've seen enough money now to suggest it's a done deal,” said Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes.
There has also been betting interest in Scott Parker taking over the England captaincy role on the back of Redknapp’s anticipated appointment. The Spurs midfielder has been backed in from 10/1 when the market opened to the 2/1 that is now available.
Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») also offer 4/6 that John Terry will start the first match of Euro 2012 against France, 6/5 that England are unbeaten between now and that first game of the Euros and 8/1 that they win every game between now and the tournament start.
As for Capello, it is 13/8 that his next managerial job is in Russia, 7/4 that he returns to Italy and 7/1 that he takes a job in China.
