David Haye Looked Boring Against Valuev, Says Ruiz

David Haye is a dull fighter to watch based on his bout with the giant Russian Nikolai Valuev, John Ruiz has claimed.

Nicknamed the Quiet Man, the uncharacteristically outspoken Ruiz told Sky Sports News that Haye describing him as boring is hypocritical.

"That's like throwing rocks at a glass house when he's living in one," he remarked. "In his last fight against Valuev, how many punches did he throw? Maybe ten a round?"

According to the American, his main aim for the fight is to close the Londoner down and make sure he cannot utilise his speed.

Ruiz failed to turn up to the Manchester press conference for the fight - a WBA heavyweight match-up scheduled for April 3rd - although Haye showed some respect for his opponent, admitting he is "under-rated".

The Brit is currently a 1/4 favourite with bookmakers, including Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power ») and Coral (Go to Coral »), while Ruiz is offered at 4/1 with Betfred (Go to Betfred »).
