Warne: Strauss Lacks Respect For Test Cricket
Shane Warne has described Andrew Strauss's decision to rest himself for England's tour of Bangladesh as showing "a lack of respect for Test cricket".
The outspoken Australian said that he hopes the squad is not taking Bangladesh lightly, as they can be a challenging team to overcome.
He remarked: "It's disappointing that the captain of England decides to have a rest from a Test series, I can't comprehend that."
According to the spin-bowler, playing for one's country is special and should be considered an honour.
Warne added that Strauss's absence from the line-up might bode well for former Hampshire teammate Michael Carberry.
Carberry is an excellent player, he explained, so hopefully he will "peel off a few hundreds" while the skipper is taking a back seat.
Skybet (Go to Skybet ») currently consider England 2/7 favourites to win an upcoming one-day-international series against Bangladesh, while fans of India's neighbours can find them at 7/2 with Stan James (Go to Stan James »).
