Wenger: Van Persie Will Return In April

Wenger Confirmed Van Persies Return Date

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that striker Robin van Persie will be fit to play for Arsenal again by mid-April.

Van Persie has been out of action with an ankle injury since November, leaving the London side short on frontmen.

Surgery to the damage had been expected to keep him out of the team for the entire season, however, Wenger has allayed these concerns.

Commenting on the club's official website, he said: "He has come back (to the training ground) and is doing as well as you can at this stage."

According to the coach, the Dutch international is currently walking around without support, but will not be playing again for another three months.

Arsenal are third in the Premier League, sitting two points behind second-place Manchester United, but with a game in hand.

They next face Bolton Wanderers, with Stan James (Go to Stan James ») offering them at 1/5 to win.

Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») has odds of 4/1 that the Wanderers, who lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Sunday (January 17th), will upset their opponents.
