Manchester United favourites in Arsenal clash

Wenger said it is a big test

Manchester United have emerged as the favourites to defeat Arsenal ahead of the two side's first Premier League clash of the season.

Totesport (Go to Totesport ») has the home team at 20/21, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said he was "happy" to go to Old Trafford for the "first big, big test" of the campaign.

He remarked: "You want always to have a high level of confidence when you go to Old Trafford, we have that at the moment."

Arsenal secured a place in the Champions League last night (August 26th) after defeating Celtic 5-1 on aggregate, with Wenger pointing out that the average age of his players for the matches was just over 23.

Focusing on Saturday's evening kick-off with United, he admitted it was important to recover physically as the Reds did not play midweek.

The Emirates-based team are yet to lose a match in the Premier League this season and Skybet (Go to Skybet ») are offering odds of 12/5 on them maintaining their perfect record.
