Football Betting - Newcastle Security To Improve Odds?

Mike Ashley Has Taken The Club Off The Market

Odds of Newcastle United returning to the Premier League next season may have been given a boost by the fact that a manager has now been officially signed and the club has been taken off the market.

According to the side's official website, Chris Hughton has been confirmed as permanent coach for the Magpies while the team's owner Mike Ashley is looking to hold off selling after an £80 million deal with Barry Moat fell through.

Commenting on his appointment, Hughton said: "It is a very proud day for me to be named as the manager of this magnificent football club."

Newcastle are currently 10/11 to get promoted this campaign with bookmaker Blue Square (Go to Blue Square »), but news that Ashley intends to invest £20 million to ensure top-flight football next season may lead to the odds shortening.

The north-east-based team are set to face Sheffield United on Monday (November 2nd) away from home and are available at 6/4 with Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet »).
