Football Betting - Ferguson Backs Rio To Improve
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has not lost any of his qualities and will soon return to form, according to manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
At a press conference before his side's Champions League match against CSKA Moscow tonight, the 67-year-old Scotsman explained that it is difficult to play with injuries, particularly when it involves the calf muscle, as in this case.
And he suggested Ferdinand will respond well to the negative press he has received and start playing well again in the near future.
BBC Sport quoted him as saying: "No player likes criticism ... Rio will come out of it.
"There is no discernible depreciation in his qualities - none for me at all."
United will be hoping Ferdinand will be back at the top of his game for this Sunday's crucial Premier League clash against Chelsea, who currently lead the champions by two points at the top of the table.
The Blues are 11/10 favourites to win the match at Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power »), while their north-west rivals are priced at 5/2 for victory at Blue Square (Go to Blue Square »).
