Football Betting - Bowen Backs Ade To Rejuvenate City
Manchester City are looking to Emmanuel Adebayor to provide a spark to their line-up this weekend, reports the Manchester Evening News (MEN).
Assistant manager of the club Mark Bowen explains that Adebayor has been in less-than-perfect health ever since his scoring streak ended after his first four games in a City shirt.
While he has played since then, Bowen tells the MEN that the Togolese striker has had a sequence of minor complaints that have lowered his usual high standards.
"Ade was flying at the start of the season, for the first four or five games," he says.
But he adds that the striker "then had a suspension and an international break, which meant he missed a few games", followed by the injury problems.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the impending return of Adebayor has Manchester City ranked as the bookies' favourites to win over Burnley on Saturday, with Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») offering odds of 1/3 on a City win.
However, Burnley fans could take a punt on their team at prices of up to 23/2, which is being offered by Betfair (Go to Betfair »).
