Football Betting - England Odds Affected By Lampard Injury?
England's odds of overcoming five-time World Cup champions Brazil may be longer following an injury to midfielder Frank Lampard.
Damage to the Chelsea player's thigh means he has been ruled out of the international friendly on Saturday (November 13th), leaving England as 12/5 underdogs with Stan James (Go to Stan James »).
According to an FA spokesman, the mishap occurred in training and "there will be no further call-ups to the squad."
Coach Fabio Capello is now without Steven Gerrard, David James, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson for the clash due to various ailments, with David Beckham also unavailable because of commitments to his club.
This leaves Capello with a 21-man squad for the match, which is scheduled to go ahead in Qatar.
Bookmaker Blue Square (Go to Blue Square ») currently has Brazil as the favourites and is offering odds of 11/10 that they will come away with a victory, while a draw is available at 11/5 with Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet »).
