Football Betting - Arsenal Title Hopes Shot By Van Persie Injury?

Van Persie Injured Himself During International Duty

Christmas has proved to be a shocking time for Arsenal in recent years and, with Robin Van Persie out with injury, 2009 could prove to be no different.

However, with the star's return date set for between four and six weeks, he may yet be back in time for the Christmas fixtures.

Van Persie insisted that he could be back within six weeks in an interview with Dutch television channel NOS this weekend, reports Sky Sports.

The news could come as a relief to Arsenal fans, as it had initially appeared as though he might be out of action until the season was over.

But he stressed: "The prognosis is that I will be out for four to six weeks."

The news has taken Arsenal to odds of 10/3 as outright winner of the Premier League this season on many betting sites, including Totesport (Go to Totesport »).

Chelsea are the favourites to take the title, with Blue Square (Go to Blue Square ») listing them at odds of 10/11 for the win.
