Football Betting - Fletcher: I Can Score More With Ronaldo Gone
Manchester United footballer Darren Fletcher has suggested it is easier for him and his midfield teammates to get close to goal and score now that Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer with the side.
The Scotsman, whose stunning volley opened the Premier League champions' account in their 3-0 victory over Everton on Saturday, said the Red Devils "sacrificed a lot" for the Portuguese ace when he was at Old Trafford.
"Maybe now we're a lot more rigid 4-4-2, with everyone knowing their role," he commented. "There are perhaps more opportunities for midfielders to get in the box and get goals."
United travel to Portsmouth for their next league clash this weekend, but despite Fletcher's comments, the bookmakers believe the strikers are the most likely players to get on the scoresheet.
Boylesports makes Wayne Rooney its anytime goalscorer favourite at 10/11, with Gabriel Obertan the shortest-priced midfielder at 15/8 with William Hill (Go to William Hill »).
