Nicholls Keen To Run Denman
Paul Nicholls has said that he would like to take Denman into the Argento Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday (January 30th).
The horse has previously taken first place at events such as the 2008 Gold Cup and remains unbeaten in the Aon Chase at Newbury, which will take place again on February 13th.
It is thought that Nicholls wants to see Denman run one more race before attempting to hold on to his title at Newbury and he spoke to the Daily Mail to say that the horse has quickly become an excellent runner.
"The last thing we want to do is give him a really hard race before the Gold Cup so it would help if it is a dry week because the ground can get really testing at this Cheltenham meeting," the racer told the newspaper.
Denman is currently 9/4 at Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») and William Hill (Go to William Hill ») for the Cheltenham race and Betfair (Go to Betfair ») is offering 20/1 for the horse at the Gold Cup, with odds drifting.
