Master Minded Set To Make Newbury Return?

Master Minded Is Recovering Well, Says Owner

Owner Clive Smith has stated that Master Minded could make a return to the track for the totepool Game Spirit Chase next Saturday (February 13th).

The horse had been out of commission since November when he sustained a fractured rib in a Cheltenham feature where the runner finished third behind Mahogany Blaze and Well Chief.

Smith stated that he went to see Master Minded schooling over fences with trainer Paul Nichols, adding that he is confident of a good race.

"He's coming out a week on Saturday so we're obviously hopeful he'll be OK," he remarked. "He wasn't ridden for a month - he did a lot of walking - but now he's back."

Master Minded is listed in a number of races for the upcoming season, including the Order of Merit, in which he is available with bookmaker Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») at odds of 28/1.

However, Betfair (Go to Betfair ») considers Big Bucks the favourite for this fixture and is offering the horse at 71/50 to romp home first.
