Denman Heads Aon Chase Field

Denman Is The Favourite

Jockey Tony McCoy will be atop Denman for the first time as the horse jostles for the Aon Chase title on Saturday (February 13th).

Betfair currently considers the Hennessy Gold Cup winner as the favourite to land the feature and is offering odds of 21/100 that this will happen.

Talking to At The Races, McCoy thanked owners Harry Findlay and Paul Barber for giving him the chance to partner with the horse for the event, as well as offering his gratitude to trainer Paul Nicholls.

"[Denman is] going to Newbury then I'll look forward to Cheltenham after that. If any horse can beat Kauto Star, hopefully it will be him," he remarked.

However, Stan James (Go to Stan James ») sees Kauto Star as the runner most likely at 5/4 to secure the Gold Cup at the venue.

For the Aon Chase, Nicholls has also entered Tricky Trickster, who can be bought at 57/5 odds with Betfair (Go to Betfair »).
