Snoopy Loopy Out Of Retirement For Blue Square Race
Trainer Andrew Boxhall has revealed that Snoopy Loopy will take his chances in the upcoming Blue Square Gold Cup after failing to settle into retirement.
According to Boxhall, the horse is being given another run by owner Dai Walters, despite a disappointing performance in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby in October 2009.
While the 12-year-old is considered a long shot by most bookies - with Boylesports offering odds of 66/1 on him winning - the handler claimed "he still seems to have a bit of life in him".
"The main thing we want is for him to get a clear round and come home safe - anything better than that would be brilliant," he remarked.
Scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th, the Gold Cup sees Le Beau Bai and The Package emerging as early favourites, with both Skybet (Go to Skybet ») and Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») offering odds of 6/1 on them finishing first.
