Lewis Confident Ahead of World Matchplay

Darts World Champion Adrian Lewis says he is ready and looking forward to the World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Lewis has been one of the most in form players over the last 12 months and his form even included a nine dart finish live on television during the World Championship.

He faces a difficult first round match in Blackpool against former World Championship finalist Kevin Painter.

“If you can beat Phil Taylor in the longer format you can beat anyone - going up there as World Champion does add a little bit of pressure to you too,” said Lewis.

“It's my favourite event to play at I think the crowd is fantastic and it's like a party atmosphere. It will be great. My form's good and I've put a lot of hard work in since Bolton (UK Open) and hopefully I can build on that.”

Lewis is a fantastic bet to win the Matchplay title with lengthy odds of 10/1 that will only shorten if he starts to play well.
