Easter: Borthwick Is The Man To Lead England

Easter Said He Was Flattered About Captaincy Rumours

Nick Easter has stated that he is putting his backing behind Steve Borthwick for the England captaincy during the RBS Six Nations.

Rumours have suggested that Easter could be considered to lead the team, but he claims that while this may be flattering, his money is on the Saracens lock.

"Steve is a tremendous captain. He brings so much intensity and professionalism to every training session," he said.

According to the Harlequins number eight, Borthwick is a "natural leader" and has been outstanding for both his club and country in recent months.

Commenting on England's chances of winning the tournament, Easter admitted: "It will be mightily difficult but we can do it."

With not long until the World Cup, it is important that England comes out on top in cups like this, he added.

The side first face Wales on February 6th in their opening match up of the Six Nations, a game 888Sport (Go to 888sport ») and Skybet (Go to Skybet ») are offering odds of 8/13 on them coming away victorious in.
