Eastwood Will Be A Great Addition, Says McClennan

Leeds Rhinos rugby league manager Brian McCennan has stated that Greg Eastwood will be a very effective addition to the squad.

New-signing Eastwood will join fellow New Zealand countryman Ali Lauitiiti in a partnership that the coach described as "pretty appealing".

"Greg's a lot of like a young Ali. He's got great line-breaking ability and a great offload game and in defence he can whack people," he said.

According to McClennan, the club is confident that Eastwood will enjoy his stay with the club and tipped the former Brisbane Bronco man to be a "cult hero".

The back-row athlete had been scheduled to join Leeds a year ago to fill in for Gareth Ellis, but ran into visa problems.

Leeds are currently the favourites to win the Super League this season, with Skybet (Go to Skybet ») offering odds of 6/5 that they will come away as champions.

A number of other bookmakers are also ranking St Helens' chances highly, including Boyle Sports (Go to Boyle Sports ») at 5/2.
