Schumi: I Felt Like A Boy Racing Again

Michael Schumacher Says His Neck Injury Is Not A Problem

Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has stated that he is looking forward to his return to the sport this season.

The 41-year-old claimed that climbing into his Mercedes Silver Arrow in Valencia as part of a test was like 1991 all over again.

He said: "I feel like a little young boy that has his toy in his hands and just enjoys himself."

According to the German driver, seeing his Ferrari car on the track with him not in it "was a strange sensation", having spent 14 years with the manufacturer.

Schumacher also denied that a neck injury that prevented him from competing at the tail end of the last campaign is still a problem.

When asked whether he thought his car was good enough to win the title in 2010, he added: "I hope so."

Despite a long lay-off, Schumacher is the favourite to secure the championship this year, with Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») and Betfred (Go to Betfred ») offering odds of 4/1 on this happening.
