Hull KR stand-off's wrist not broken

Cooke remains a doubt for this week's match

X-rays have revealed that stand-off Paul Cooke of Hull Kingston Rovers did not break his rest during a weekend friendly with Salford Reds as had initially been thought. The 27-year-old could have faced a long layoff had a fracture been discovered, but instead he has only suffered from ligament damage, BBC Sport reports.Cooke remains a doubt for this week's Super League match against Bradford, but coach Justin Morgan suggested that he will likely not be out for too long."He will probably have to play with some protection on the wrist," he told BBC Radio Humberside.Hull KR defeated Salford 18-16 in the pre-season warm-up game, after which they were installed as ninth favourites to win the Super League in the Rugby League betting.Meanwhile, Salford are the second favourites to finish in last place, with Celtic Crusaders odds-on to pick up the wooden spoon following their 28-6 defeat away at Leeds Rhinos on Friday.
