Injury blow for Wigan's O'Carroll

Wigan Warriors boss Brian Noble

Wigan Warriors have been dealt a blow by the news that Eamon O'Carroll is to be out for more than two months. The prop suffered a broken foot while playing for the reserves against Salford City Reds on Friday and is now facing a lengthy period on the sidelines. He had featured in Wigan's opening six first-team matches, before Paul Prescott stepped in for the most recent game. The 21-year-old Ireland international broke a metatarsal, meaning he could be ruled out for up to ten weeks. However, the club has revealed that both Gareth Hock and Karl Pryce should be fit for this week's visit of Huddersfield Giants, having recovered from knocks picked up in Salford.Wigan's 38-12 victory at the Willows took them to ninth place, with only points difference keeping them outside the play-off spots.Betfair currently rates them at 2/17 for a top-eight finish, but they are rated at 18/1 with Boylesports to win the Grand Final.
