Warrington pair put pen to paper
Warrington Wolves have been boosted by the news that a pair of players have extended their contracts.Both Simon Grix and Matty Blythe will remain with the Super League club until at least the end of the 2010 season, with boss Tony Smith welcoming the development.Grix has scored a total of five tries in nine games for the Wolves so far this season, including a pair against Hull FC last weekend.He joined from Halifax in 2004 and the club noted his versatility, as he can play centre, stand-off and back-row.Blythe, meanwhile, is a product of Warrington's development programme and has appeared in seven matches this season, coming off the bench on six occasions."Matty has shown himself to be a great home-grown talent," said Smith, adding that he is a "shining example" to other youngsters.Warrington are currently four points shy of the play-off places, lying in tenth in the Super League table, but are given odds of 18/35 to finish in the top eight by Betfair.Leaders St Helens are 5/4 favourites to take the title with 888 Sport .
