Kelly: It will be difficult for Cavendish
Sean Kelly has suggested that Mark Cavendish must put in a stellar performance in the second week of the Tour de France if he is to have a chance of winning the points classification title. The former cyclist - who won the green jersey in four Tour de France championships - said that it is going to be much more difficult than in the first week and it will require a lot of hard work from the 24-year-old and his team. Kelly remarked: "[Cavendish] has three days where it is possible that [he and his team] could control the race and take it to a bunch sprint and he will pull back a lot of points."What could make this week more difficult, Kelly adds, is that many of the riders at the bottom of the rankings are going to try and form a break and race leaders will allow them to do so. Betfair (Go to Betfair ») currently has Cavendish at 22/29 to win the points classification prize at this year's Tour de France. Alberto Contador is considered the favourite to be the outright winner and Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power ») gives odds of 4/11 on him taking the title.
