Contador favourite for Tour de France victory

Contador is currently the favourite

Alberto Contador is now a 1/10 favourite with Centrebet (Go to Centrebet ») to win the Tour de France after capturing the yellow jersey in the 15th stage of the Tour de France. The Spaniard flew ahead of his rivals and finished 43 seconds clear of second-place Andy Schleck, the only rider who attempted to stay with the team Astana cyclist. Contador confirmed he was happy with the win and stated that the climb to the finish at the Swiss resort of Verbier was not long, but he was pleased with the performance. Commenting on the victory he said: "I saw there was a chance with five kilometres to go and I did what was required to make a difference."Lance Armstrong - Contador's Astana teammate - finished in ninth place and suggested he would not be trying for an eighth Tour win, instead explaining he would act as the leader's domestique. Britain's Mark Cavendish saw his chances of obtaining the points classification jersey fall slightly as he was disqualified from the 14th stage of the annual race, meaning he is now 14/5 to take the green pullover with Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet »).
