Terry Newton has been signed to the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, with a contract securing the player's services for two years at the rugby league side. Head coach of the Wildcats John Kear said the former Great Britain international will add much-need experience to the team. He remarked: "This is another pointer to the fact that Wakefield Trinity Wildcats is a developing and improving club."The 30-year-old has more than 300 first grade appearances including 93 for Bradford Bulls and 182 for Wigan Warriors - for whom he scored 62 tries. Newton will unite with the Wakefield squad for the engage Super League XV season and he said he was "very much looking forward" to putting on a Wildcats shirt. Wakefield are currently outsiders for the Super League trophy, with Skybet (Go to Skybet ») offering odds of 40/1 on them winning. Leeds remain the favourites at most bookies and Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») have them at 11/10.
